A space for respite and creativity in the Southern Appalachian mountains.
Stoneroot consists of 18 acres in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains, with abundant native plant life in a diverse hardwood upland forest, a natural spring, and a pond.
Nature and outdoor space are the most abundant resources here. We encourage residents to explore and enjoy at their own pace.
Stoneroot is located in the outskirts of the town of Ellijay, Georgia, 90 minutes North of Atlanta and 90 minutes South-East of Chattanooga, TN. The land is in historic Cherokee territory.
The buildings in the complex include three cabins, one shared library and work space, a greenhouse, a shop, two open platforms for resting and working, a large organic garden, and the main farmhouse.
